The walls at Tutti Matti are covered in photos telling the stories of our sojourns in Montalcino. Over the years, many of our loyal customers have asked for my recommendations for their own journeys to Tuscany, and I have provided them with my best insider information. I like to think of myself as the Canadian “Uffico Touristico de Montalcino.” My customers return to Tutti Matti with wonderful reports about the wines, restaurants, and locals of Montalcino. I cherish these stories! Here’s an ongoing list of my favorites — I hope you’ll enjoy and come in and tell me your stories too!

The Butchers:
Dario Cecchini
Carlo and Milva at Poggio Stenti
Hotels in Montalcino:
Giglio Hotel
Vecchia Oliviera
Castello Banfi Il Borgo
Tuscan House
Castello Di Velona
Restaurants:
Enoteca Grappolo Blu
Boccon Di Vino Montalcino
Osteria Porta Cassero
Il Leccio (outside the Walls of Montalcino but best ravioli in Italy)
Day Trips:
Pienza and Montepulciano are great day trip towns (best porchetta sandwich I’ve ever had!)
The best tourist office for what’s going on in Tuscany and listings and tickets for all outdoor concerts is in the main piazza of Pienza. (*Of interest: The English Patient and Romeo & Juliet were both filmed in Pienza.
Restaurants in Pienza:
Trattoria Latte di Luna
La Buca di Enea

Hello,
I have yet to try your restaurant but I hope to do so soon. I am thinking about coming there tonight, Dec. 2/11, however, I will be with a friend who is Vegan, so not too much on the menu for her.
I was in Tuscany in June 2011 and loved it!! On a “Taste of Tuscany” tour with our base in Montecatini Terme with day trips to Pisa, Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, Lucca, Vince, Greve.
I loved the food especially the Zucchini fritters that I found in Florence; I read about them in two books which absolutely convinced me that I had to go to Tuscany – Marlena deBlasi’s “1000 Days in Venice” followed by “1000 Days in Tuscany”.
I hope to go back one day and I will endeavour to get to your restaurant as soon as I can.
Maybe tonight!
Ciao!
